Scheduling Instructions
Figuring out a schedule for a league or for a tournament can take time. For
this reason we have built templates over the years to handle the situations
that have occurred with the Central Penobscot Youth League. The following
list does not cover all possible situations, but might help out some who are
scratching their heads over scheduling problems we have already solved. Each
of the league schedules covers 2 games against each team (for multiple division
situations, 2 games against each team within division and 1 game against
teams in other divisions). In cases of multiple division, non interlocking
schedules, just use single division schedules for each division.
Each of the templates is generically constructed so that all a user would have
to do is to replace the 'team 1' or 'team a' in the template with the name
of a team in his league or tournement (if appropriate). 'Team 2' or 'team
b' would be replaced with the name of another team. We usually do the in
simple alphabetic order. In our league, 'Bradford' is first on an alphabetic
list and so becomes 'team 1' (or 'team a') and so on.
The easiest way to use these schedules is to download them and edit them into
a word processer of some sort so that the replacements can be done by
the software. Otherwise, print it out and do the replacements by hand. Use
any of these aids that may be useful to you.
